Course Description
Field crop management is the application of scientific results to managing grain crops such as corn, small grains, soybeans, and alternative grain crops. Emphasis is placed upon the systems approach to crop management. Production factors including crop rotation, tillage, soil fertility, cultivar selection, planting strategies, pest management, and harvesting techniques are discussed. Case farms are used to apply many of the concepts discussed in class. establishing, and managing forage-animal production systems.
